There’s no doubt about this - we all love our hair. As Indians, our thick black hair is one of our most distinctive features. While most of us are very good at taking care of it and paying attention to it, we have to agree that maintaining it is an ordeal in itself.
The first step towards making your hair healthier is getting rid of those expensive hair products laden with chemicals and instead switching to the natural and beneficial ingredients in your kitchen. Not only will they make your hair shiny and beautiful but also aid in hair growth.
Onion juice
Onion juice stimulates keratin and protein growth, which helps in your hair regrowth. To use it, start by cutting a few slices of onion and grinding out its juice. Apply the juice liberally on your scalp and hair and let it stay for about 15-20 minutes. After this, just wash off your hair with a mild shampoo.
Lemon juice
Lemon, as we all know, is rich in vitamin C and loaded with antioxidants which makes it the best weapon against hair loss. And it does more than just stop hair loss it actually aids in hair growth and keeps your scalp dandruff-free. To use it, rinse your hair with lemon juice before a hair wash. Let the lemon juice stay in your hair for about 30 to 45 minutes. When washing, use a mild shampoo.
Beer
Beer
may not be good for the body but it is quite good for your hair because it
contains nutrients such as malt and hops which can give your locks a lot of
strength. If you have flat hair, then after you wash your hair, rinse your hair
with beer and let it work its magic for a few minutes. Afterwards rinse it off
using cold water.
White vinegar
White vinegar is quite a versatile product and can be used for multiple purposes, including hair growth. Also, the property of acetic acid helps in removing residue and making your hair look shinier, softer and healthier. If you have an oily scalp then before you wash your hair, rinse it using either distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. After that apply a conditioner.
Castor Oil
Commonly known as Arandi oil, it has a high content of vitamin E and omega 9 fatty acids. Arandi oil moisturises your hair, and is very beneficial for fighting scalp infections. Apply castor oil on your scalp, massage it well, and let it stay in your hair for about 45 minutes. Finally, wash it off with a shampoo to get beautiful hair.
Amla
Also known as Indian gooseberry, it has a high content of vitamin C and nutrients which are very good for your hair. Amla prevents the hair from developing hair pigmentation. For hair growth, mix two teaspoons of amla juice or amla powder with lime juice and apply it on your hair. Let it stay for about 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water followed by a mild shampoo rinse.
Methi seed powder
Also known as fenugreek, methi is rich in protein and lecithin and it makes a very good conditioner for fighting against hair growth and dandruff. Grind fenugreek seeds into a paste before mixing it with coconut oil. Apply it on your hair and leave it on for an hour. Wash it out with shampoo.
